TMS320F28377D: Secure and unsecure boot ROM

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Dear TI hello,

In chapter 4 in TRM, we have in Table4.1 two types of Rom, secure and unsecured,

I don't know why we have two types, is this related to Zone 1 and Zone 2 in the Z1_BOOTCTRL register?

What is the purpose of this ROM secure section?

Thank you in advance for your help,

S.T

  • Hello S.T.

The Secure ROM is used by certain users to protect their data during run time from unauthorized reads and modifications even if using a TI debugger. The two zones allow the user to specific the permissions (ex: Execute only, Read , Write Execute, etc.) based on the application.

    Regards,
