TMS320F28388D: Understanding MCAN clocking for c28x core in F2838x

Part Number: TMS320F28388D

I wanted to enquire about the MCAN clocking in F2838x CPU1 core. As the TRM mentions the MCAN module in Connectivity Manager, the below clocking diagram is given:

This is specific to Arm core. Since MCAN is also supported in c28x core, I wanted to know how the clocking in c28x core of F2838x will take place. Is it going to be similar to how MCAN clocking is given in other microcontrollers supporting MCAN in c28x core, like F28003x as given below:

  • Hi Rijuta,

F2838x MCAN clocking in C28x domain is exactly the same as the implementation in F28003x.  The only minor difference is the bit name for the MCAN clock selector.  In F2838x, it is MCANBITCLKSEL whereas in  F28003x, the bit is MCANABCLKSEL.
