Hello,

im currently writing my bachelor thesis and therefore I need to use the Board TMS320F280049C to create PWM signals to test my circuit board.

I need two different PWM signals with one serving as an enable signal. Therefore the one signal needs to have a frequency by a multiplier higher than the other one.

To configure the launchpad I used CSS in connection with sysconfig and followed the C2000 ePWM developers guide. Now everything works like I hope for, but its not possibel for me to get both signals in sync.

In order to check if I configured SYNCIN and SYNCOUT correctly I gave both signals the same frequency. It didn't work and looked like this instead:

Now I am uncertain what to do. I probably didn't implement the syncronization correctly, but I can't find the mistake.

The settings you have (based on the above) look correct. When are you enabling 'TBCLKSYNC' in your application (within the .c file)? This should be very similar to the C2000Ware examples for EPWM: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_version\driverlib\f28004x\examples\epwm

Additionally, do you have different action qualifier events for EPWM1 and EPWM4?

Do I understand correctly, that I have to activate TBCLKSYNC in the main.c? I have the same action qualifiers for both signals.

Hi Lucas,

Yes, something like the below:

    //
    // Disable sync(Freeze clock to PWM as well)
    //
    SysCtl_disablePeripheral(SYSCTL_PERIPH_CLK_TBCLKSYNC);

    //
    // Configure ePWM1, ePWM2, and TZ GPIOs/Modules
    //
    Board_init();

    //
    // Enable sync and clock to PWM
    //
    SysCtl_enablePeripheral(SYSCTL_PERIPH_CLK_TBCLKSYNC);

Are there any other settings that are different between the two EPWM modules? I recommend comparing the sysconfig file (you can open it with a text editor) or the sysconfig generated code.

Hello Marlyn,

thank you very much for your reply. I will try the code you sent tomorrow. I just used the empty project but didn’t adjust the main.c for syncing. Both ePWM signals currently have the same settings in my sysconfig file.

Thank you very much for your help. I could just check it today, since the labs in my institute weren’t open last week, but everything now works as it should.
