TMS320F2812: Custom board using TMS320F2812 connection failure error

Part Number: TMS320F2812

We have designed a custom board using TMS320F2812 chip and using debugger spectrum digital C200 series XDS510LC to flash the code. The board is not getting connected, and we are getting the error (error message screenshot is attached). Please help me to solve this issue.

  • Prashant,

It is a bit challenging to debug a problem like this remotely, since the problem could be in any of the following areas: Device, board design, board assembly, bad debug probe (XDS510LC), Device driver. You may be aware that Spectrum Digital, designers of XDS510LC, shut down their business a few years ago. So, there is no H/W or S/W support for XDS510LC anymore. It is evident you are using CSv3.3. Latest version of Eclipse-based CCS is free to download from the TI website. Unfortunately, there is no support for XDS510-class. The latest generation of XDS debug probes such as XDS100, XDS110 and XDS200 are all very robust and work with latest CCS versions such as CCSv12.3. My suggestion would be to switch to XDS110 ($135) and CCS12.3.

  • Hareesh,

Thank you for your suggestion, i will try to look into that direction of upgrading to higher version of CCS and debugger.
