TMS320F28388D: spi pull-up

I am a hardware developer.
I am trying to attach an SPI communication slave to the TMS320F28388D, but I wonder if a pull-up is necessary.
I understand that if it is a push-pull type, a pull-up resistor is not needed, and if it is an open drain, a pull-up resistor is required.

What about the 28388D?

You would want to consider a pull-up on the SPI chip select line. This is just to ensure the SPI slave is not activated if the master doesn't drive the chip select line (e.g. during power-up or reset). However, this is not strictly required.
