TMDSHVMTRINSPIN: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN

During instanspin foc motor parametric identification short circuit occurs. I need your support to understand why this fault happened and what can i do to verify if additional problem se present.

  • During instanspin foc motor parametric identification short circuit occurs.

Which C2000 controller and example lab are you using?

I need your support to understand why this fault happened and what can i do to verify if additional problem se present.

Can you have a detailed description of the operation step you did? What's the motor type and parameters? What's the dc bus voltage of the TMDSHVMTRINSPIN and how do you add the power supply to the TMDSHVMTRINSPIN?

  • I've follow instruction indicated on user GUI QSG. I've populated jumper like indicated on GUI description. Use banana jack connected to BS1 and BS5. Used external power supply of 230VAC 50Hz at P1 link. Used DC supply linked at JP1. Conenct usb cable from Link J1 on control card F2806X to PC usb input. Motor used is a PMSM motor 2 pair poles maximum 1.5 A. Problem occurs when i start motor identification using INSTASPIN SW. Short circuit occurs and shunt resistor R020 nearly to motor conenctor burns. My questions now are: Cahnging shunt damged resitor with anotehr one will solve problem? Is it possible taht otehr componet are damaged? if so witch ones? Why short circuit occurs if i've used indicated connection scheme?  Please see atatched photo to verify connection. Please verify if conenction on control card is correct or i must use second connection (J200 link on control card?)

  • Conenct usb cable from Link J1 on control card F2806X to PC usb input.

Which control Card are you using? F28069 or F28069M?

What InstaSPIN GUI are you using?

  • I'm using F2806x ISO Control card, using INSTA SPIN-FOC GUI.

I've additional question for you: supposing that a fault occurs on 3-Ph motor connector to control board, and fsupposed fault is ph1 and ph2 in short circuit. What kind of damge can occurs? If i replace shunt resistor R020 with another one, problem will be solve? is it necessary to check other contorl card components? if so which ones?

  • I'm using F2806x ISO Control card, using INSTA SPIN-FOC GUI.

There are two F2806x ISO control Card. F28069 or F28069M. Only F28069M can support InstaSPIN-FOC.

And there are two InstaSPIN-FOC GUI. InstaSPIN_UNIVERSAL or InstaSPIN_FOC_F2806xM. Which one are you using? Please provide the details.

You need to follow the hardware and GUI guides to set up the hardware, and need to set the right motor parameters to run the lab. If not, the hardware will be damaged for over current.

You have to check if the power module is damaged also.

  • What component of power module i must verify?

  • U1 (PS21765)  Power Module.

Please make sure that you are using the correct controlCard (F28069M) and GUI( InstaSPIN_UNIVERSAL)), and take a look at the related user's guide first.

  • After internal evaluetion it possibile that motor control kit is damaged. It will be necessary to be repaired. How can i proceed? Can i send to TI support damaged appliance? please give me support on how I must proceed to repair my motor control KIT.

  • It's difficult to repair a damaged kit by TI. Seems like you may try to repair the kit by yourself if the kit is damaged by an incorrect operation you did.
