Hello,
I am currently working on a launchpad to upload a program to flash and leave it running. I could not be able to run the program in flash until I found out that the booting switch was wiggling. After fixing that, I could use the launchpad with standalone operation. However, while I was investigating about the problem, I tried the uniflash tool. It said to update de debugging probe to a newer version. The problem now comes when I use CCs version 12.2 that I am no longer able to debug the launchpad.
I have searched for different solutions and I am still not able to program the launchpad. I will give some context about mi current situation:
First, the drivers do not appear in device manager so they can not be uninstalled and I could not find a webpage to download them. Furthermore, I tested connection with the XDS110 in another PC and did not work wither.
Second, I tried the xdsdfu to revert the firmware version and could not connect to any target.
I would like to know which is the best solution to that problem. Also, I woudl like to know if it is possible to reset the debugger without the need of hardware modifications.
Regards,
David
Hi David,
Do you see the XDS110 in device manager?

Hello Benjamin,
No, the device did not appear in the device manager. I tried to change the orientetion of the type C usb and seemed to work. However, i did not undestand why. The 5V to the debug probe worked properly but it was not possible to set communication. Did you have any related issue or possible solution to that problem?
Hi David,
I have not heard of an issue like this before. Do you see the same issue with a different usb cable?
Best Regards,
Ben Collier
Hi Benjamin,
Yes, I tried the cable that comes with the original launchpad and another cable I bought. At first both cables worked fine but at one point, the issue i described started to appear. It seems like the connetor does not have proper contact due to some kind of bending after using?
David
Hi David,
So you are experiencing the issue with both USB cables? What connector are you referring to that does not have proper contact after bending?
Best Regards,
Ben Collier
The connector is a type C connector. By design it shall be possible to conects it upwards and downwards.
David,
You are correct. I am just trying to determine if you are experiencing a problem with the USB cable or the board, so I can track down what is causing this issue.

Ben Collier
Hello Benajmin,
Than you for your response. Unfortunately, I can not say what is the root cause because it happened i two different launchpads with two different cables.

David
