TMS320F28376D: hardware test with empty software

Part Number: TMS320F28376D

Hi team,

My customer would like to evaluate their board with TMS320F28376DPTPT implemented. They plan to test hardware (surrounding circuit) before testing software. Is it OK to apply voltage for each pins of TMS320F28376DPTPT, when the software is empty (not written)? Are pins Hi-Z in default?

Best regards,

Kurumi

  • Hello Kurumi,

If you refer to Figure 8-1 GPIO Logic for a Single Pin, you can see that there is no option for the GPIO to be in a high impedance state; by default, the GPIO configuration registers are set so the pins are inputs with pull-ups disabled with no open drain (see the GPIO_CTRL_REGS Registers section of the GPIO chapter). As long as the F2837xD device is powered and the voltage does not exceed what is specified in the data sheet, it should be okay to apply voltage to the pins.

    Best regards,

    Omer Amir

  • Hi Omer,
