TMS320F280049: Behavior of the ramp generator during RAMP Delay

Part Number: TMS320F280049

Hi Champs,

I ask this for our customer.

Customer configure RAMP delay as follows.

If a rising edge of COMPHSTS occurs during the RAMP delay, will the ramp generator stop or continue to decrease? That is, is the left side correct or the right side correct in the picture below?

Customer encountered an issue during development, so it is necessary to confirm this accurately. Could you please help to check this? Thanks!

Best Regards,

Julia

  • Hello Julia,

    Thank you for your patience.

To answer your question, the right side shows the correct behavior.

Generally, on the rising edge of COMPHSTS , RAMPSTS is loaded with RAMPMAXREFA and
    stops decrementing.

If COMPHSTS rising edge occurs one or more cycles after EPWMSYNCPER rising edge but before
RAMPDLYA reaches 0, RAMPSTS does not decrement. RAMPSTS starts decrementing when
    RAMPDLYA counter reaches zero.

You can refer to the section "16.4.2 Ramp Generator Behavior" in the device TRM.

    Regards,

    Hadi
