The clearing happens only upon a POR. How is your application that runs the SCIA booting?

Is the application booting from flash directly after POR?

No SCIA boot.  Just use the SCIA to send out the ResetCauseValue , and check it in uart support tool in windows.

Yes, both tests are directly after POR.

It seems go through the different software path in BootROM

The RESC cause register shows that the XRSn pin is asserted to reset, and not a POR. In that case, the data is correct.

Can you confirm the second test is truly via POR?

I clearly said the test method above as the origin question shows.

Could you please reproduce the two tests? Then you will exactly get what I am asking.

For this case, check to see if the XRSn line was actually asserted. Please try monitoring the XRSn line during boot. If the watchdog fires a reset then the XRSn pin will be held low for 512 OSCCLK cycles.
