TMS320F28379D: How to retain CLB output logic level when reset happens

Hi Champs,

I plan to use CLB output pin to control an external circuit and I hope it could latch at output high status when DSP warm reset.

However, after verification, I found the CLB output status always reset itself following the DSP warm reset, is what I see correct? Is there any method to make the output pin latch at reset?

Can you elaborate what you mean by warm reset, and how you are going about issuing this DSP warm reset?

Hi Kien,

From my understanding, the watchdog reset will issue an XRSn reset. The XRSn reset will reset all the peripheral registers hence it would not be possible to latch onto the value of the CLB. If you configure watchdog to use interrupt mode, then i would think you should be able to latch the CLB output at that point

Hi Kien,

Please see below from our WD expert

A WD reset is reflected at the -XRS pin and is equivalent to an external reset. There are some registers/bits that only get impacted on a power-on-reset, but I don’t believe CLB registers are one among them.

It will not be possible to latch the output of the CLB with the watchdog. I looked into the possibility of using the Watchdog interrupt mode, but with the interrupt mode, you could use this to check the output of the CLB. The problem is that you are not able to change the mode of the Watchdog during this 512 watchdog period so you would not be able to reconfigure it to reset mode to perform a watchdog reset of the device after that

Just wanted to reiterate that, like any other peripheral, CLB will get reset by a WD-reset
