TMS320F28075: the Flash access speed is not the same in different sector

Hi Champs,

I am asking for my customer.

customer use the flash library is “F021_API_F2837xD_FPU32_EABI.lib”.

they would write data to the sector 10~13 of the F28075 flash.

but they found when they access named sector 13 ( or sector N ) addressing in 0xBE000 to 0x BFFFF have longer time than others.

please refer the picture as below. the part marking in red is sector 13 access time. the GPIO high means the flash access period.

whether there are any different behavior or operation in the sector 13?

When you say "access" - is it a CPU based read from code running in RAM?

the "access" means "write/erase" operation.

Is erase taking more time? And is it succeeding eventually?

Where is the flash API executing from?

Hi Vamsi,

customer feedback as below.

yes, the sector N erasing takes more time than other sectors. Yes it erase successful.

The flash API executes as a ram function and we call Fapi_issueAsyncCommandWithAddress() to erase flash.

Does this happen on multiple units? Or only one unit?

this issue only happen on one unit now,

but customer will try it on other board to confirm whether this issue happen on multiple unit or not.

Ok, let us know how it goes.

One more thing: Can they use the flash API example as-is (except changing it to do the operations on Sector N) and see if that causes the same issue on this unit?

Hi Vamsi,

Customer will wait for next version new board back, then do such verification.

so now still wait for their feedback.

but they will ignore the sectorN access in the short term.
