TMS320F280039C: Configure MCAN as CNAFD, and the arbitration segment and the data segment use different bit rates

Part Number: TMS320F280039C

Hi Team,

My customer wants to use different bitrates between arbitration segment and data segment.

Like,

arbitration segment 500kbps, data segment 5Mbps;

arbitration segment 100kbps, data segment 5Mbps.

How to achieve this?

                    A given bit-rate can be achieved with multiple combinations of NBTP/DBTP values. CAN is unlike other protocols in this aspect. For example, a given bit-rate can be achieved with different sampling-points. Sampling points are chosen based on the network parameters such as bus length, transceiver propagation delay, delay introduced by galvanic isolation etc. Since each network is different, we cannot suggest a “universal” value. I have shown the formula used in page 15 of www.ti.com/lit/SPRACE5A. Understand that is DCAN and you are asking about MCAN, but the computation is exactly identical.
