TMS320F280034: Nwec Write/Erase Cycles Confirm

Part Number: TMS320F280034

Hi expert,

In F280034's datasheet （6.12.4.1）, it showed that Nwec per sector is 20000 cycles and Nwec for entire Flash (combined for all sectors) is 100000 cycles. Which one should we refer to if we plan to use Flash to emulate EEPROM? Customer cares about this #cylce for EEPROM emulation.

    Joyce,

    If we assume that customer is going to reserve one sector for EEPROM, then you will need to go with the 20k W/E cycles.  If they spread across other sectors they could do another 20k, etc.  In this case they could have 5 sectors @ 20k each, and then they have reached the 100k limit for the device.

    Hi Mattew,

    It's the same as we guessed. But customer need 100k per sector for longer life of emulated EEPROM, do you have any advice?

    Joyce,

    Do we know customer's allocation for the rest of the flash, i.e. what other sectors are being used for normal flash program/data?  If they need all 100k W/E for the EEPROM, they are going to have to use multiple banks to get close to this; not sure if they have other sectors that are un-used.
