TMS320F2800137: TMS320F2800137 reset circuit problem

Part Number: TMS320F2800137
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LAUNCHXL-F2800137

Hi Team,

There's an issue from the customer need your help:

As shown in the figure below, refer to the LAUNCHXL-F2800137 development board to design the reset circuit; Press the reset button to have such a problem: press the reset button, see the phenomenon, the program is not executed from the beginning, the program is randomly paused, and there is also a probability that the program stops running. When designing the reset circuit, the schematic diagram is completely reference to the development board, and the size of the resistor and capacitance is the same; Please help analyze the cause of this problem.

Best Regards,

Ben

  • Hi Ben,

    Some questions below:

    1. When you press the reset button do you see XRSn go all the way low when probing with an oscilloscope? Please provide waveforms if possible.
    2. Are you running some C2000 example code and in Flash build configuration for standalone run?
    3. Are the C2000 default boot mode pins pulled HIGH on the PCB for FLASH boot?

    Best,

    Kevin

  • Customer used the oscilloscope to grab the connected LEDGPIO waveform, compare it with the GPIO pin waveform of other pins, and found that the LED level had 1V multi-voltage when it was reset, tested the voltage of the driver chip, and found that it was a problem with the driver chip. The driver chip gives the high-time state Z (which should be the high-impedance state), which is not a problem with the reset circuit.
