TMS320F28075: how to verify "Opens/Shorts Detection Circuit (OSDETECT)"

Part Number: TMS320F28075
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Dear Champs,

I am asking this for our customer.

In the F28075 TRM, customer found the chapter 10.11 Opens/Shorts Detection Circuit (OSDETECT).

but Customer do not know how to verify this feature, could you help to provide the detail step and setting?

and whether there are any example code for this feature?

Regards,

Daniel

  • Hello Daniel,

but Customer do not know how to verify this feature, could you help to provide the detail step and setting?

The DETECTCFG configured through the ADCOSDETECT register will determine what should be expected when reading the ADC (if the proper sample and hold time is used). For example, setting the DETECTCFG field to 3h will mean that a voltage divided by the 5K and 7K resistors should be expected on the ADC input reading. Note that the sample and hold time must be set higher to account for the impedance of the resistors. External loads also affect the overall impedance generated by the internal resistors. One other thing is that the resistance tolerances are loose so the conversions may not be exact (they are used for gross detection of open/shorts).

and whether there are any example code for this feature?

I looked in C2000Ware and it does not seem like we have example code explicitly testing this feature.

    Best regards,

    Omer Amir
