Migration from TMS320F2812 to TMS320F28235, pin mapping

We are planning to migrate from to the TMS320F28235ZJZS as a replacement for our current TMS320F2812PGFQ design.

However there were significant pinout changes, and I would like to keep the impact of the change minimal to our firmware group.  So, as an example, how would the GPIOB0 (PIN 45 on the F2812) map to the F28235?  Is there a pin mapping migration document available?  I have reviewed the general migration document located here already.  http://focus.ti.com/general/docs/lit/getliterature.tsp?literatureNumber=spraaq7b&fileType=pdf

  • Jimmy,

Since the packages are not pin for pin compatible, the switch from the 2812 to the 28235 will require a new board layout. The documentation can help you with functional differences between device/peripheral capabilities.

To compare where the pins are located on the F28235 vs. the F2812, the datasheets would be the best source of information.

I hope this answers your question.

    Regards,

    Nishant
