There are different ways you can enable security for a device:

The easiest way to enable security for a device is through Sysconfig. Sysconfig will generate the needed .asm and .cmd files that get included in your project. The .asm file contains the security settings (including the passwords) and the .cmd file has the information to program the passwords (and other security settings) into the correct locations in the OTP. Once the generated .out file is programmed in your device, security is enabled for your device.

The other option is to program the passwords using the on-chip flash programming tool embedded in CCS

Uniflash is another option

Unlocking the device can be done using the on-chip flash programming tool embedded in CCS. What is happening in the background is the CSM Password Match Flow (PMF), as shown in Figure 3.-23 in page 161 of www.ti.com/lit/SPRUHM8. You can also write code to execute the PMF and run it from unsecure memory to unlock the device.
