TMS320F280039C: Does TMS320F280039C control board support three CCSI BUS interfaces?

Hi TI experts,

May I inquire if the "F280049C LaunchPad" is capable of implementing three CCSI BUS interfaces to control multiple LP5891-Q1 arrays?

Could you please provide guidance on how to achieve this? Thank you!

Hello Allen,

I could not find anything called CCSI online, is that the name of the protocol? You can find the communication peripherals that are integrated onto a device in the C2000 Peripherals Guide, specifically section 3.4 "Communication Peripherals". However, I didn't find any such protocol, so can you describe it to me and I'll see if there's an expert who may know more about this and if it can be implemented using software?

Hi Omer Amir,
The sample code on the TI websit(www.ti.com/.../LP5891Q1EVM LP5891 uses the CCSI protocol to perform data transmission with LP5891 through FS280039C.
But the sample code only supports data transmission for two CCSI buses.

Allen,

The CCSI interface is implemented using CLB blocks on the device. You need 2 CLB tiles per CCSI bus. Therefore, to achieve 3 CCSI busses, you need a minimum of 6 CLB tiles. The F28004x and F28003x device only have 4 tiles.

Hello Allen,

There are only two devices with at least 6 CLB tiles, the F2838x device and the F28P65x device.

Hi Omer Amir,
Is it possible to port the code from F280039C to these two ICs? My primary objective is to use three sets of CCSI buses to control the LED matrix with driver IC LP5891Q1.

I could not find a direct migration guide, but if you're using SysConfig then migrating your device setup/initialization code will be very simple to do as shown in this video. For other sorts of code migration, I will let the device owner help answer this (this may be something that you need to walk through to see what peripherals are being used).
