TMS320F2800137: [SCI] Receiving garbage on SCI

Part Number: TMS320F2800137

Hi All,

I'm using "sci_ex1_loopback" example of SCI, changing the RX TX pins to relevant on my board and receiving the following terminal messages:

I'm using XDS110 debug probe (which have two connectors, first is 'Debug' and second is 'AUX. FUNCTIONS'), therefore I have two COM ports.
My board JTAG ('Debug') connector is the following:

While pin 17 and 19 is manually connected to UART pins on 'AUX. FUNCTIONS' connector pins 12 and 14 corresponding (17->12 ; 19->14) :

Please advise.

  • Hi Michael,

From looking at your schematic in the green outline, it seems like SCIA_RX and SCIA_TX are connected to a pull-down resistor. These pins should always be connected to a pull-up resistor, either internally within the F280013x device or with an external resistor.

Do you have access to a launchpad or control card to test this issue? If so, do you see the same behavior?

    Thank you,

    Luke
