TMS320F28379D: Configured GPIO pins used by SCI boot

Part Number: TMS320F28379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Hi Champ,

I am asking for my customer.

As default, GPIO84 (SCITX) and GPIO85 (SCIRX) are the default SCI pins in SCI-Boot0. To modify the default pins and configure to GPIO28 (SCITX) and GPIO29 (SCIRX) in SCI-Boot1, is it the only way to configure with the DCSM ? Any implementation for that ?

Thanks and regards,

Johnny

  • Johnny,

Since the BOOTCTRL register is in Z1-OTP which is secure, the only way to change the SCI pins for boot is via the DCSM option in SYSCONFIG.  The Sysconfig tool is very easy to use. As you make changes in the GUI, you will see that the value to be written in Z1-OTP.BOOTCTRL location keeps changing dynamically. BTW, SCITXDA is GPIO29 and SCIRXDA is GPIO28 (you got it mixed).
