TMS320F2800137: simultaneous sample

Part Number: TMS320F2800137

Hi expert:

In datashhet page 1019,as follow. what does the simultaneous sample meaning?

AdcaRegs.ADCSOC0CTL.bit.CHSEL = 3; //SOC0 will convert ADCINA3

AdcaRegs.ADCSOC0CTL.bit.ACQPS = 19; //SOC0 will use sample duration of 20 SYSCLK cycles

AdcaRegs.ADCSOC0CTL.bit.TRIGSEL = 10; //SOC0 will begin conversion on ePWM3 SOCB

the setting has cocered the init setting.

AdccRegs.ADCSOC0CTL.bit.CHSEL = 5; //SOC0 will convert ADCINC5

AdccRegs.ADCSOC0CTL.bit.ACQPS = 19; //SOC0 will use sample duration of 20 SYSCLK cycles

AdccRegs.ADCSOC0CTL.bit.TRIGSEL = 10; //SOC0 will begin conversion on ePWM3 SOCB

beause the setting has cocered,how to achieving the  simultaneous sample?and what does this section meaning?

  • Hello,

    This section explains how to sample two different channels at the same time, by converting on two different ADC modules in parallel. In this example, ADC-A and ADC-C are both configured to receive a trigger from ePWM3 SOCB, and both SOC configurations have the same ACQPS setting. ADC-A is configured to sample A3, and ADC-C is configured to sample C5. When the SOC trigger from ePWM3 SOCB arrives, both ADC's will begin sampling at the same time, and the conversions should take place at the exact same time in a synchronous manner.

    Hope this clarifies it for you.

    Best regards,
    Ibukun
