TMS320F28388D: Can EtherCAT and Ethernet be used simultaneously on F28388?

Hi,

I need to design a new board with both EtherCAT and Ethernet functions.
Therefore, I require 4 Ethernet ports (2 for EtherCAT and 2 for standard Ethernet).
If having 1 port for EtherCAT and 2 ports for Ethernet is possible, that would also work for my needs.

Is this achievable without any hardware restrictions?

Hi Moonsun,

2 EtherCAT ports is standard for connecting to upstream and downstream devices, but I do not understand the need for 2 Ethernet ports. F2838x only supports 1x Ethernet module keep in mind.

I meant 2ea RJ-45 Port for EtherCAT and 2ea RJ-45 Port for Ethernet(lwip)

This is possible and standard for ECAT.

This is not possible on F2838x. Only 1x Ethernet port / MAC is supported.
