Online debug HVMotorCtrl+PFC Kit via CCS4 error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28035, CONTROLSUITE

Hi,

I use CCS4 and set Texas Instruments XDS100v1 USB Emulator  and TMS320F28035 on Target Configuration.

  And I populated  [Main]-J9

When I push debug to connect target ( HVMotorCtrl+PFC Kit ) , I get "  Exception occurred during launch Reason: Failed to load program 'HVACI_Sensorless.out'on any of targets. Reason : The target 'F283X CPU Cycle Accurate Simulator_0/TMS320F283XX_0' could not be found.

 Could you give me advice???

Regards,

Jimmy

  • Jimmy,

It sounds like your target configuration may be off.  Go to "View->Target Configurations" and make sure that the target configuration you are using is the xds100v1 with a TMS320F28035 and make sure it is set to be the default configuration. Also make sure there are not any project specific target configurations.

If you feel the target configurations are correct, I would recommend first trying to update Code Composer to the most recent version.  You can do this by going to "Help -> Software Updates -> Check for Updates -> Find and Install...".

Let us know if this fixes your issue.

    Thank you,
    Brett

  • Brett,

          I update our CCS4(version 4.1.2.00027 ) to last version .

But I get error message on picture .

        Maybe, I need to re-install it .

    Regards,

    Jimmy

  • Brett,

       I do this steps on CCS4 ver1.2.

       Step1 : Launch Selected Configuration

       Step2 : Connect Target

       Step3 : Load Program

But , I have error when run on target CPU

I confuse the SW2 on Piccolo F28035 control Card  that define boot mode and jumper [Main]-J9 ,[M3]-J4 on Kit that define JTAG and SCI.

How do I set up theym when debug it via CCS4???

      Regards,

      Jimmy

  • Jimmy,

Since your original version (4.1.2) is from about a year ago, reinstalling CCS would probably be a good idea if possible. The most recent version can be downloaded from:
    http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Download_CCS

    Thanks,
    Brett

  • Jimmy,

In order for CCS to connect with the board, [Main]-J9 will need to be populated with a jumper.  Most other jumpers do not really affect whether CCS will connect.

A full table of the functions of all jumpers/connectors can be found at the end of the following document:
    C:\TI\controlSUITE\development_kits\HVMotorCtrl+PfcKit_v1.6\~Docs\HVMotorCtrl+PFC_HWGuide.pdf

    Thanks,
    Brett

  • Brett,

I re- install Code Composer Studio Version 4.2.4.00033 to my computer .

Now , It can work with KIT .

    Thanks,

    Jimmy
