TMS320F2800157: How XTAL Accuracy affects SYSCLK Accuracy

Dear champs,

If customer chooses external XTAL, will the accuracy deviation of the resulting sysclk be the same as that of XTAL? For example, if the external XTAL has a deviation of ±0.1%, the accuracy of generated SYSCLK will also be 120MHz ±0.1%. Is this correct?

Hi Julia,

Yes, that is correct. The generated SYSCLK will follow the accuracy of the clock source. I the example you gave, a ±0.1% accuracy on XTAL will have the corresponding ±0.1% accuracy on SYSCLK.
