TMS320F28069: Higher Performance Upgrade

Hey team,

I got a customer asking for the below request. I'm not too familiar with what the recommended upgrade from this TMS320 would be, so I'm hoping you guys could help me out.

"For TMS320F28069, we would be very grateful if you could recommend another more powerful substitute with higher speed, larger ram size,...etc. in case that the F28069 becomes obsoleted in the future. It would be perfect if the recommended one has the similar or the same architecture so we could migrate our original project to the new one effortlessly."

    Marco,

                As the device homepage (https://www.ti.com/product/TMS320F28069?keyMatch=F28069) suggests, TMS320F280049 would be a good fit. These devices have the same CPU and are compatible with each other for the most part. That being said, there will be some migration effort. We do not have a direct migration guide between the 28069 and the 280049 but customer can look at www.ti.com/lit/SPRACZ7 to get an idea.

    C2000 devices have a *very* long lifecycle. For example, our LF240xA devices (TMS320LF2407A, for example) which were introduced over 20 years ago are still in production. There are no plans to obsolete F28069 anytime soon.
