TMS320F280040-Q1: Issue with using Cppcheck in CCS

Hello,

Does it work to use Cppcheck in CCS?

I am trying to Cppcheclipse on Code Composer Studio v12.0. It is installed successfully and Cppcheck can be started. But there is an error which says
"Could not initialize cppcheck.
Could not initialize cppcheck for project xxx.
Content is not allowed in prolog.
"
And after checking Window->Preferences->cppcheclipse -> problem, there is nothing there.
Both Java and CDT are installed.

What might be missing in this case?

Hi Crane,

I don't have much experience with Cppcheck. It appears to be a 3rd party plugin to Eclipse. I would suggest following up with the 3rd party directly for further support.

Ok got it.

So it means that CCS has nothing to exclude the use of Cppcheck. And from your experience, you never heard that it is proved that Cppcheck doesn't work with CCS. Is this understanding correct?

I am in contact with the 3rd party. At the same time, I would like to get some information from TI as well.

Yes. Actually this is the first time I have heard of Cppcheck. So I have not heard anything about it working or not working with CCS. So it is quite possible it can work fine with CCS.

Hello,

I try to configure Cppcheck as an external tool in Eclipse. It seems that there is no "External tools" under Run in the main menu. Is it taken out of CCS or I just didn't find it?

CCS hides it by default. To re-enable it:

Go to "Window -> Perspective -> Customize Perspective"

In the opened dialog box, go to "Menu Visibility" and expand "Run". Then enable the checkbox for "External Tools"

Apply and Close.

The menu item should now appear:
