TMS320F28377S: 28377S Software issue

Part Number: TMS320F28377S

Dears,

A problem was found in the process of software program development in DSP28377S: (CCS version 12.5) the same DSP software program can run normally after burning most of the time. There is about 5% probability that the program can not run normally after the completion of burning, and the online single-step operation is found to be directly caused by illegal interruption. If you power off and then power on after an illegal interruption, you cannot run properly. We would like to ask the DSP software engineer of TI, what is the cause of this and how to solve it.

Thanks

  • Hello Ning,

There is about 5% probability that the program can not run normally after the completion of burning, and the online single-step operation is found to be directly caused by illegal interruption.

Can you provide context with regards to numbers? How many devices is this occurring on? For the devices that it is occurring on, can the issue be repeated consistently? Are you applying any sort of high/low temperatures or other environmental conditions to the device?

If you power off and then power on after an illegal interruption, you cannot run properly.

How are you able to verify that there is an illegal interrupt, do you have a debug session and have you already looked in the Disassembly view to see whether the Flash had been erased/programmed differently? Does this problem occur if you do a CPU reset or a restart in CCS?
