F28M35H52C: error message Failed ! Error 13 when programming IC

Part Number: F28M35H52C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000-GANG, UNIFLASH

I am using the C2000 gang programmer.

However when I tried to program my board, I get the error message Failed ! Error 13.

The device to be programmed is powered externally.

I however have a question.

I am trying to program a new concerto core. I have set up the FTDI ports but that’s it. Now I’m trying to put the boot code using the C2000, Is this possible?

Do I need a USB interface to program the bootcode as I’m using the RS232 since that’s what is supported by the C2000.

Thanks

  • Ben,

Can you clarify if you are trying to program the C2000 with the C2000-GANG(which connects to the C2000 with JTAG interface), or use one of the on-chip boot modes to download your code/flash you code in that manner?

    Best,
    Matthew

  • hi Matthew,

How can we take this off the public forum and solve privately?

    Thanks

  • Ben,

I'll send you a private message/chat request we can use to talk off-forum.

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Hi Ben,

Today, I am asked to review this for you.

    1) Could you send me a snapshot of the exact error message?

    2) If not C2000-GANG, are you able to program using the Uniflash Or CCS flash plugin?

    3) Are you trying to program the device using SCI bootloader Or JTAG?

    Thanks and regards,

    Vamsi

  • Hi,

Error 13 - Vcc too low.
When the target is supplied for external power supply, then the Vcc from MCU should also be connected to programmer where the Vcc level is monitored. Otherwise error 13 would be reported. You can bypass that error if Vcc from MCU is not connected to programmer by selection option - "Power from programmer enable". In that case programmer will provide Vcc on the Vcc pin on programmer and satisfy software. Make sure the set Vcc value in programmer is the same as the Vcc provided to MCU from external power supply.

Let me know if you have any questions.
