Max here really means ceiling. We will fix this in the next documentation update to be clearer.
Hello,
C2000Ware includes examples for how to use DCC to perform frequency measurements or monitor a clock. The driverlib also includes convenience functions that you can call directly for these features, e.g. DCC_measureClockFrequency, DCC_continuousMonitor. You can also look at the source code for these functions if you wish to see exactly how the counter values are calculated.
To correct my previous comment, the "max" is not really needed in the formula.
