LAUNCHXL-F28069M: Lab05a: The motor current waveform

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8301

In the Lab05a of "InstaSPIN Projects and Labs User’s Guide InstaSPIN-FOC & InstaSPIN-MOTION for F2802xF, F2805xF, F2805xM, F2806xF, F2806xM". I want to measure the motor current waveform similar to the below figure, is it possible, and if it can how to I performance that measurement. Thank you for your help.

  • I want to measure the motor current waveform similar to the below figure, is it possible, and if it can how to I performance that measurement. Thank you for your help.

Sorry. I am not fully understand your question. Normally, the current is measured by using an instrument like oscilloscope with current probe. The real phase current is dependent on the bemf waveform of the motor and the control algorithm. It could be close to sinusoidal on most of the motor.

  • Ah, thank you, I thought we had some way of measuring directly with software because DRV8301 has current sensing.
