TMS320F28379D: CAN Bootloader on pins 4 and 5?

Hello,

I am trying to develop a CAN bootloader for my application but the hardware is already finished with CAN-A using pins 4 and 5. The datasheet states that the default pins for CAN bootloader are either 70 / 71 or 62 / 63. Is there a way to configure the bootloader to use pins 4 and 5 for the CAN bus or am I stuck?

I also see that the specific CAN-ID that the bootloader is looking for is hard coded? I have three devices all on the same bus that need different firmware. Am I able to write to each device separately using a device ID within the CAN-ID?

Hi Braden

Are you talking about using pins 4 and 5 for the bootloader present in the controller? Or are you trying to create your own CAN bootloader and want to use tthe pins 4 and 5 for it.

For TI provided Bootloader you will not be able to change the GPIOs from the pins preset in the CAN options. But if you are developing your own bootloader, you are free to use any GPIOs that supports CAN communications.

This is hard coded. It won't be possible to write separately using the device ID.
