Hi Team,
Is there any limitation to SCI baud rate in F28P650 launchpad? I am not receiving data properly when baud rate is 12e6.
Kind regards,
Irene

Hi Irene,
Please refer to this SCI FAQ thread to diagnose the issue. Let me know if you are still having trouble or have any other questions.

Hi Delaney
SCI works fine with lower baud rate. I just want to know if there is a hardware limitation for F28P650 launchpad for baud rate of 12e6.
Kind regards,
Irene
Hi Irene,
My apologies, what LSPCLK speed are you using? The LSPCLK frequency/16 is the maximum baud rate that can be configured. For example, if your LSPCLK is set to 100MHz, the maximum baud rate would be 6.25Mbps.
If the LSPCLK divider is set to /1 so that the LSPCLK is 200MHz, the maximum baud rate is 12.5 Mbps. It can't achieve exactly 12 Mbps due to the nature of the divider. The two closest configurable values would be:
BRR = 1: baud rate = 12.5 Mbps
BRR = 2: baud rate = 8.333 Mbps
If you are looking to use a baud rate closer to 12 Mbps than 12.5 Mbps, I would suggest using UART on F28P65x instead. It has a fractional divider, so more baud rate granularity than SCI and uses the same UART protocol.
Best Regards,
Delaney
