Hi Team,

Does 28002x device support pbist?

I don't see any description about it in datasheet, there are only these two features:

But there is a .c file in C2000ware: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_5_01_00_00\libraries\boot_rom\f28002x\rev0\rom_sources\F28002x_ROM\bootROM\source\cpu1brom_pbist.c

What does this file used for?

Yes, F28002x supports HWBIST(internally called PBIST) as you mention. This app note goes into more detail https://www.ti.com/lit/spraca7 , and there should be an example of functional usage in C2000 ware here C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_5_01_00_00\libraries\diagnostic\f28002x\examples

I agree that there could be additional information on this in the TRM, link to the above, etc.

Ben,

I mis-spoke, HWBIST is always referred to as HWBIST in the support files.

PBIST is another name for memory test diagnostics, you will see this sometimes called M-POST(Memory Power on Self Test) in the boot flows/TRM.

Hi Mattew，

But does 28002x device support PBIST？Some of my customers thinks that 28002x devices supports PBIST but there are no relevant describtion in the TRM. I‘m not sure that it is not write in the TRM or it just does not support. Could you comfirm with that？

Yes, it does support PBIST; but in most customer facing documents we refer to this as M-POST(Memory Power On Self Test); details are located in the BROM section of the TRM https://www.ti.com/lit/spruin7 look at page 544. There are special bits that the customer has to set in the OTP, and after that this will only run after power on reset condition.
