TMS320F28388D: Cannot Load CM Core When Debug Configuration includes CPU1

Part Number: TMS320F28388D

Greetings,

I have created a workspace with 2 projects in it, a CPU1 project, and a CM project.  I have also created two Debug Configurations.  One includes both projects, and the other contains only the CM project.

When I debug using the Debug Configuration with only the CM project in it, the CM core is erased and programmed.  But when I try to debug using the Debug Configuration with both projects in it, CPU1’s flash is erased and programmed, and the CM fails with the following:

If I immediately use the Debug Configuration with only the CM project in it, the CM core will have its flash erased and programmed.

In the Debug Configuration with both projects, what could I be doing wrong?

Thank you,

Ed

  • Hello Ed,

Are you programming CPU1 and then CM? I believe our current multicore devices have CPU1 set as the primary CPU which needs to be programmed first. Also, make sure you're programming the correct target if you're trying to run multiple cores at once (you can view this in the CCS Debug session window).

  • Hi Omer,

Thank you for steering me to the CCS Debug session window.  I realized that the target config file did not have the correct path to the Gel files because I had recently changed things.  Once I corrected that, both cores are loading without issue.

    Thanks again,

    Ed
