I am using a docking station USB-EMU [R3]

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

I am using a docking station USB-EMU [R3] . The emulator types xds100 and xds2xx are displayed in Device Manager. As far as I know, xds100 is a built-in emulator. I want to short the terminal so that I don't use it. Which pin should I short-circuit?

  • The schematic is found in C2000Ware here: C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_5_00_00_00\boards\ExperimenterKits\DockingStation_DIM_100pin\R3

I do not see a built in way to disable the embedded emulator in the docking station. I believe the intention is to power it using 5V0 though JP1 when using an external emulator. If you want to disable the emulator please not that you will lose the serial port connection to the controlCARD.

You should be able to do this by removing the power the FTDI chip, looks like removing L1 would work. Also you could Remove R1 and R3, but this will only make it such that your PC does not detect the emulator, there could still be contention between the embedded emulator and the external XDS200. So i would caution aginst this unless power is removed from the FTDI chip by either of the other previous methods.
