TMS320F28379D: The FT2232H is suddenly not detecting on USB side

Hi,

We have used TMS320F28379D launch pad design in our circuit as is with FT2232HL chip for UAR to USB conversion. The same board we have used on our vehicle to control the speed of motor and other peripherals. This delfino board will talk with processor through USB2.0 and get the data from that. However in the middle of the runs we are facing USB enumeration (Not showing in lsusb or /dev/tty).

The follow methods we did to fix this:

1. Delfino power cycle: Fixed but this is very difficult to do on filed because the delfino will be inside vehicle

2. USB bind and unbind : did not fix

have you come across this issue ? do you have any idea why this happening ?

Please let us know if you have any idea how to fix this issue without doing power cycle. Thanks in advance

Note: We are facing this issue only in one place in all three vehicle but not seen this issue in other places

Hi,

Are you able to figure out where exactly in the code is this happening? Is there any reset caused due to watchdog which is causing the USB to disconnect?

We could not figure out where the exactly problem and why it is happening in only one place (three boards out of 100 boards) ?

If the problem in code it should happen in all the boards but this is not happening. Will FT2232H goes into any unknown state ?

Will this could be EMI or EMC issue ?

Hi,

If it not a repeatable issue , then looks like its not a problem with the code. Maybe some other external factors could be causing it.
