TMS320F28388D: Use both ethercat and one ethernet port in the smaller package

Hi experts,

In our current design we use the TMS320F28388D with two ethercat interfaces. Our customer wants now a ethernet service interface. We are using the version

HLQFP (PTP) | 17, is it possible to use two ethercat ports and 1 ethernet port togheter with this chip? 

I checked the pins and

ESC_PHY1_LINKSTATUS ENET_MII_INTR

is both on GPIO68. And

ESC_LED_LINK0_ACTIVE ENET_MII_TX_CLK

is both on GPIO58.

Is it possible to handle this and have all three interfaces in one ? Or is only possibility to go to the TMS320F28388DZWTS?

    Hi,

    I have only seen this done with the 337 Pin Package, it may be possible with Ethernet in RMII mode, but I am not sure if it is possible with MII mode.

    It looks like there are some necessary signals that are only pinned out on conflicting pins.
