Hi team,

I am supporting my customer to work on F280039 CAN. Their end application would need 2 CAN, and they hope to use MCAN as classic DCAN, since they are very familiar with it.

I noticed we provided an example mcan_ex7_classic_transmit in C2000Ware. Can we provide a 'receive' example similar as the transmit example? Thanks!

You probably wanted to say "MCAN as classic CAN", not "classic DCAN". I want to make that distinction very clear. MCAN supports Classic CAN but it cannot emulate DCAN.

We currently don't have such an example but I can file a request for such an example to be added to C2000ware. In the interim, customer can refer to www.ti.com/lit/SPRAD59 which clearly explains how transmission/reception is handled for both MCAN and DCAN.

You can utilize "mcan_ex4_receive" as is to receive classic CAN frames as well. Out of the box, the example is configured to receive Standard frames with ID 0x4, with 500 kbps bit rate.
