TMS320F28027F: LaunchpadXL inconsistent connection to COM port

Hello,

I am working on an application where a PC will connect to the LaunchpadXL via serial port.  On some boards, there are no issues.  The PC will connect to the appropriate COM port, and the application works.

However, on 2 of 4 LaunchpadXL's tested so far, the PC side will not connect to the detected COM port.  I see no traffic at the SCI pins on the 28027.  The PC side simply provides a "cannot connect" error.

Switch 4 is in the correct position.

I am testing with the LaunchpadXLs powered by USB, with no other hardware connected.

Have you seen similar issues before, or do you have ideas on what the issue may be?
