TMS320F280039C: Concerns using CLB for PWM at GPIO that has no PWM function.

Part Number: TMS320F280039C

Hi BU experts,

We know that CLB outputs can be used as PWM. My customer has concerns that when using CLB as PWM, and choose a non-PWM GPIO (GPIO without PWM function) as output GPIO, would that cause any issue? Is the GPIO with PWM functions different to the ones without?

Thanks,

Hang.

No, all GPIO are the same relatively speaking, certainly for trying to output a square wave there shouldn't be any difference. If there are specific settings the user wants to configure (i.e. open-drain, pull-up enabled, etc.) then they can configure those options per each pin, but the GPIO pins themselves are uniform.
