TMS320F280039C: About the configuration of Message RAM in MCAN

Part Number: TMS320F280039C

Hi Team,

There's an issue from the customer need your help:

This is the structure of Message RAM, and the yellow highlight of the text explanation next to it says: "There is no restriction on the order of the segments".

Can I understand that when I use it, as long as it does not exceed the limit of 2048 words, any segment in RAM, for example

The Rx FIFO0 part can be placed either in the position of the 11-bit Filter shown in the diagram or in the position of the Tx Buffers. And at the same time

The 11-bit filter can also be placed behind the Rx FIFO0.

Best Regards,

Ben

  • Hello Ben,

Can I understand that when I use it, as long as it does not exceed the limit of 2048 words, any segment in RAM, for example

The Rx FIFO0 part can be placed either in the position of the 11-bit Filter shown in the diagram or in the position of the Tx Buffers. And at the same time

The 11-bit filter can also be placed behind the Rx FIFO0.

As long as it doesn't exceed the size of the message RAM and the allocated item (i.e. Rx FIFO 0) does not cross the end address boundary then yes, it should not matter.
