TMS320F280039: Is ERROR_STS pin configurable on GPIO55?

From the technical reference manual, I read

3.6.7 Error Pin
A signal called ERRORSTS can be output to GPIO24, GPIO28, GPIO29 or GPIO55.

The pin is shown also in GPIO Muxed Pins, in Table 10-7.

However, from section 4.8.1.1 GPREG2 Usage and MPOST Configuration in Table 4-15 only the first three can be selected in Z1-GPREG2 and Z2-GPREG2.

Is that correct?
Can GPIO55 only be selected from the user's program pin MUX configuration?

GPIO55 generically if not needed for ERRORSTS, should be usable for other application needs by configuring the PINMUX. Are you using GPREG and DCSM tool?

Hi Nima,
I'm just working on the requisites of a planned new design, reviewing the external pin assignment.

Since from some precedent designs GPIO28, and GPIO29 are the defaults for the SCI Boot Options, and GPIO24 is used for
Default boot mode select pin 1, I would have preferred using GPIO55. This looks to be unlikely.

Hi Luca,

The outputxbar can be configured to route ERRORSTS to GPIO55. You can also configure any GPIO to be used as the boot mode select pins via the DCSM tool. Let me know if you have any questions on how to do this.

Hi Luke,
we will consider the first solution, with ERRORSTS on GPIO55, and act under a principle of least surprise - changing the boot mode selection pin could lead to much confusion, as with all of our boards we use it in the default configuration.
