ePWM Minimum configurable frequency on TMS320F28335



Hi

I would like to know the minimum frequency range that can be configured using ePWM module of F28335.

SYSCLKOUT that iam usiing is 150MHz. Please let me know, till what frequency(minimum) i can configure ePWM for Up-Down-Count Mode.

  • I found the answer through ePWM data sheet (sPRUG04A)

    For Up Count and Down Count

    TPWM = (TBPRD + 1) x TTBCLK    and FPWM = 1/ (TPWM)

     where, TBCLK = SYSCLKOUT / (HSPCLKDIV × CLKDIV)

  • Running the ePWM module at full frequency (150 MHz) will result in a PWM frequency of 150MHz/2^16=2289 Hz. In up/down mode it will be the half of this value (1144 Hz). With the maximum clock prescalers (HSPCLKDIV=14, CLKDIV=128) you will get 1144/14/128=0.64 Hz. But just with a time resolution of 14*128/(150 MHz)=12 us.
