Hi,

I am using TMS320F28388D and TMS320F28384D. Our team is planning to develop a customized flash driver in our application to program and erase flash. Consequently, we need access to the source code of Flash API for these two microcontrollers.

I have already read similar posts about my request, and I know that the source codes are not distributed unless requested under certain circumstances. It seems TI can provide us with the source code of the Flash API under a non-disclosure agreement. So, I would appreciate it if you guide me on how I can access the source codes. Also, if you need any other information from our side, feel free to privately contact me.

Hi Alex,

For this device, we don't allow users to develop their own flash erase/program driver since it involves critical timings/trims to ensure the flash datasheet specification.

Thank you for following up with this query and for letting me know.

After meeting our team, I should let you know that we ensure that we will not change anything that could mess up the critical timings/trims you mentioned. Even if our team changes by mistake parts in the code that might affect those critical timings/trims or any other sensitive parts, we take responsibility for the mistakes and for the broken flash/chips.

So, having that said, due to the lack of resources (e.g. memory storage) in these DSPs, we need to have a leaner version of the Flash API by removing/customizing the function APIs that are not used in our application. That is why we need the source of the Flash API.

So, once again, I should mention that our team is aware of any technical consequences and takes responsibility for any potential mistakes regarding the changes in the Flash API. Also, our team agrees to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Please let me know if anything is required from our side to proceed with this query. So, I would appreciate it if you follow up on this request with your team as we need this source code ASAP.
