TMS320F28388D: EMIF RAS and CAS signal names

Part Number: TMS320F28388D

Dear forum users,

It seems from the TRM that the RAS and CAS MCU outputs are not inverted, however when looking e.g. at the F2837xD controlCARD and the F28379D_EMIF_DC_SCH (where the SDRAM expects inverted inputs) the signals are directly connected to the memory. Hence might there be a naming issue (lacking the "roof" above the signal names)?

  • Hello Samuel,

I see that in the EMIF Pins Specific to SDRAM table it mentions the CAS/RAS signals as active low an in the daughter card schematic/EMIF Functional Block Diagram this is not indicated. I will check with some other experts to verify the implementation of this and see if these need to be corrected.

  • Hello Samuel,

In the F28379D_EMIF_DC_SCH diagram the active-low signal is indicated by a '#':

For the difference in the EMIF Functional Block Diagram, I believe this may be a typo. I will make this fix for the next revision of the reference manual, or let you know if I find out otherwise.

  • Hello Omer,

Thank you for your reply. I meanwhile also tested an old design of ours with F2837xD RAS & CAS MCU output assumed active low, and it works. Based on this, on the similarity of EMIF modules, and on your typo assumption, we go forward in our design accordingly.
