TMS320F2800157-Q1: is shadow register available for Ramp direction register

There is no shadow register for RAMPDIR; so, it will be updated whenever a new value is loaded.

Thanks for the response. I just want cross check and validate my understanding.

The behavior for Ramp is shown in the image. At start RampDir = 0, hence slope is falling, in between as shown instance, we are setting RampDir bit. Is Ramp outptut will be as same as shown for the above case.

Yes you can change the ramp slope using RampDir as you demonstrated here.

I need to add something here to avoid confusion. 

The ramp generator configurations can change on the fly but its value takes effect when the trigger TRIGSYNC signal is received . After that, it will be updated on every SYSCLK cycle.

By "Ramp generator configuration", You want to consider RAMPDIR feature also in it or your statement is not valid for RAMPDIR feature. As I am only interested in it, as other Ramp generator features' details are clearly available in TRM.

In the meantime, I'd like to know what application you are targeting that needs on the fly change of RAMPDIR?

Jay,

RAMPDIR is a static configuration of the CMPSS and can't change on the fly. So, you need to disable the ramp generator using DACSOURCE=0 and then change the RAMPDIR.
