TMS320F280039C: How to assign particular function in library to load in flash in run in ram?

Hi experts,

In cmd file, we can use

GROUP

{

{-l xxx.lib}

}LOAD = FLASH_BANK0_SEC0

RUN = RAMLS0

...

to make the whole lib load in flash and run in RAM. But how to do this to a particular function in the lib, instead of the whole lib?

Hi Aswin,

Thanks for the info. That thread offers method of how to put .obj in RAM. Is it possible to put certain function in the obj on RAM instead of the whole obj?

Hello Hang,

To allocate a specific function into RAM you would need to use something like the using the .binit section in the linker command file. Refer to example flash_ex3_flash_to_ram in C2000Ware_5_02_00_00\driverlib\f2838x\examples\c28x\flash. While the example is not in the F28003x device folder, the same concepts/code still apply. This example shows two functions, one of which is in Flash and the other of which is copied to execute in RAM.

Hi Amir,

I saw in the example that there is a #pragma to link the function with a section. This may not be appliable to function in libraries since source is not available. Can this method put certain code in .lib on RAM while rest of the obj and lib in FLASH?

I have tried this before using the DSP FPU FFT library and it worked based on what I remember, please try this for the library you're planning to use and let me know if you have difficulties.
