Hello, I am looking for a solution to my problem.

I am considering using SCI and CAN as communication interfaces in my TMS320F280025C.
My question is, is it possible to rewrite the "Message Identifier" used for CAN communication through other communication methods?
If so, is it possible to set it so that the "Message Identifier" after rewriting is maintained even if the power is reset?

Hi Allison,

I apologize for the confusing wording.
We intend to use CAN as our main means of communication and would like to be able to change the "Message Identifier", which is a setting in the "Message Object", from the outside.
I am wondering if it is feasible to rewrite the "Message Identifier" by sending the value via SCI.
I would also like to design it in such a way that the rewritten value is maintained after a power reset.

Yes.

That would be possible only if you store the message identifier in Flash (or some other non-volatile memory in the system)

Do I need to rewrite the settings in the linker command file?
If you have some kind of sample project, we would appreciate it if you could provide it.

Anything you want preserved across power-cycling needs to be stored in some form of non-volatile memory. It can be an off-chip EEPROM or Flash memory or it can be on-chip Flash. if you want to store in on-chip Flash, the Flash needs to be “programmed”. Hard to explain how to do this in an e2e post.

No, once you have finalized your linker command file to suit your project needs, you don’t touch it again.
