Hello,

I want to send 0xFF data over SPI but it is sent as 0x7F. This problem is the same when I send it as "0xFF, 0xAA, 0xBB", I see it as "0x7F , 0xAA, 0xBB". Why is the first 1 bit missing. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Ahmet,

Can you confirm that you are using the latest C2000Ware 5.02.00.00 and that your project references this version? The SPI_pollingNonFIFOTransaction() and SPI_pollingFIFOTransaction() functions referenced in SPI Example #6 has been modified to fix the extra clock pulse when the SPIPTE is controlled manually that you are seeing.

Hi Aishwarya,

I was using C2000Ware version 4.03.00.00.00.00.00.

I looked at the differences with 5.02.00.00.00.00.

Are there any other differences from this plugin? Could this be the problem?

I have one more question.

It is known that the SPI settings of the slave side are CPHA = 1 and CPOL = 1.
I think this will be set to SPI_PROT_POL1PHA1.

This should be the SPI Mode 3 setting. But I can communicate with SPI Mode 2 or SPI Mode 1.
What could be the reason for this?

That should be the difference and should solve your problem.

SPI modes refer to how sent and received data is clocked, so while you can see there is communication between different modes, it is important to choose the ones that fit device / application requirements to make sure data is shifted and latched on the same rising or falling edge, so in this case SPI mode 3.

There's something I don't understand.
I have set SPI Mode 3 on the processor side.

When I analyze, I see that the data is correct CPOL=0, CPHA=1

CPOL=1 When CPHA=1, the data appears incorrect. However, this is what should actually happen.

Ahmet,

Like I mentioned before, use the clock mode based on the device that you are communicating with. Once you look at the data sheet and see what clock mode the other device uses, you can then look at F2838x modes to find the one that matches. Since CPOL=0, CPHA=1 looks correct, then that might be the one that should actually be used. This example was created for two F2838x SPIs, so modification is necessary to account for other devices.
